Rivanna has over two decades of experience in the field of paediatric clinical nutrition.
Rivanna trained as a dietitian at Ryerson University and completed her clinical internship in 2002 at Sunnybrook and Women’s Health Sciences Centre in Toronto. She began her career at Children’s Hospital of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, working in the areas of pediatric Kidney Disease, Cancer, Acute Brain Injury, Cystic Fibrosis, General Pediatrics, and with children requiring long term tube feeding. In 2004 she moved to London, England, and worked in three of London’s largest hospitals (King’s College Hospital NHS Trust, Bart’s and the London NHS Trust, Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Trust), mainly with children. While she specialized in Cystic Fibrosis and other lung diseases, Rivanna also worked with children with heart conditions, Diabetes, Cerebral Palsy, Celiac Disease, and children with food allergies. In 2008 Rivanna moved back to Toronto, and has been working at Sickkids ever since, in multiple specialities including general paediatrics, oncology, and bone marrow transplant.
